From a slave to a master chapter # 32 - Repressive ‘positive thinking’ and its harms part II

The second harm that the “positive thinking” brings is the rooting of a judgmental attitude towards life, one that believes in conflicts, suffer and anguish.

If we divide our thoughts to positive and negative and our actions to positive and negative as well, and consequently we divide the whole world to positive and negative, then we also, being part of this world, are judged as positive and negative (by ourselves). Therefore, on some days we are experiencing the goodness, meaning we live in the light, do a good job in our relationships, send love to our dears and fight for noble (and good) values like peace, brotherhood, and freedom. On other days we give up to the dark, to the “negative energies” and to depression. As long as we are strong enough, determent and exercise self-discipline we place ourselves on the side of the “light warriors” and that makes us feel good. However, if we fall to the other side, to the evil, we begin to feel sorry for ourselves and to scold ourselves because of our bad behaviors and satanic thoughts. We continuously beat our allegedly dark souls and find comfort in affirmations like: “this is a cruel world” or “after all we are just human beings”. The bottom line is that our division reinforces our existence in the prison box of the reality and we endlessly see the world only through categorizing glasses.
That in itself disallows us to see the bigger picture of the reality, and eventually impedes us from realization!
That picture, the opposite positive/negative, is the understanding that the world is a harmonious system which works perfectly; that every event and experience, whether “good” or “bad”, is the fruit of our choice; and that whatever happens to us is appropriate and only leads us to the kingdom of love.
Therefore, positive thinking is likened to a flight in an air-balloon. We indeed manage to soar above the earth and to detach ourselves from the sweeping mass consciousness; we indeed manage to become observers and to develop a perspective about the reality; we indeed can look down and notice both the ugly and the beautiful sceneries; our breath is taken away by the beauty of the earth and also cries on the destructions that humans cause it. The flight in the balloon can indeed be enriching and emotional but only when we really fly high, way into space, we can see the entire picture. Only from high above we can view the whole globe, the earth in its impeccable creation; and then our soul rejoices of itself.

The primal benefit that harmonious thinking brings is the emotional and mental ability to accept with no drama any event, even the severest and most grievous. Situations like breaking up from a beloved spouse, a death of a relative, loss of a job, a car accident, financial difficulties are seen suddenly under a new light and are perceived exactly as they really are that is, experiences that we have chosen to serve us. When we understand that we can fully accept the “bad” situations we ultimately enable ourselves to change our reality to our own liking.
When we give up the positive-negative dichotomy we discover that the thoughts that pass through our minds are merely thoughts which, if left alone to freely flow rather than linger, bring feelings of balance, joy, self-esteem, and security; the same feelings that in the past we used to consider positive and now we realize that they are actually the natural state of our essence.
When you work with your beliefs take note that you do not make the effort to think “only positive”. There is no such think as “positive thoughts” just as there is no such thing as “negative thought”. “Warriors of light” are “dark warriors” as well, and the truest way to deal with the reality is through the piercing observation of everything without judging it as “good” or “bad” and without transforming it to become “positive”. Such approach that addresses both sides of the experience brings the inner peace and the balance that prepare the ground for realization.

Geez, another tough one! Will take much practice/thought, perhaps this entire lifetime for me to stop with this almost automatic labeling of black/white, positive/negative.
I do understand and accept all is for our growth, so a start.

Yes ... I realized it. Everyone certainly wants a happy life, many people spend time developing themselves to be better. Real reality shows that every person's actions begin with a form of belief, and from there a thought emerges that will eventually manifest in an action. Positive thinking is one way to get a happy life, and it is done continuously every time, there is no limit for everyone to stop thinking positively. Positive thinking is a way that we can develop into individuals who are much better.

right, I agree with your thoughts. I think life is not necessary to always think negatively and it can make us stressed quickly. Then I always want to think positively in living this life. Many people who like to send positive feelings are a part of their lives. Because of the influence and benefits that can be gained from positive thinking. Starting from a person's physical and mental health. In addition, the sense of optimism that is given directly makes many people tempted to make it an advantage.
This is certainly a very good hope. Where someone can easily handle problems that fire. Gives good meaning that makes us clearer about seeing problems and finding solutions.
