MeetUp Maracay-Venezuela

In MeetUp Maracay-Venezuela my experience can be DESCRIBED in a single word as ENRICHER, if you allow me now I will tell you why.

Dear stemians I tell you that I traveled from San Juan de los Morros to Maracay especially to this activity, because I was hungry for reliable information about Blockchain and Steemit.

And because in the end it was quite an achievement to get the quota, hahaha, because for the one in Caracas I did not manage to register in time.

Entering Citobar

Arriving at Citobar, located at C.C. Hiperjumbo of the city of Maracay, Venezuela, I was checked on the guest list and immediately invited me to pass.

The place was totally magical. The light was adequate, in total comfort and willingness all to learn and increase our knowledge.

I entered the beautiful and luxurious restaurant Citobar and then I saw groups of people located in different tables ...

And I thought, what a chimbo and what a pity, I will have to sit alone at a table.

Vicissitudes of a Stemian without a battery

It turns out that my phone came to Maracay, almost dead and without a battery, so how much, I had to borrow a loaner, until a very good guy gave it to me, and saved my life, excuse me for not giving you credit here, but I do not know your user. Then chances of life that the plug where I put to charge my phone was next to the table of the group of friends.

Cultivating friendships between Stemians

While my cell phone was charging and as I am very talkative, then I decided to talk to everyone hahaha. And through laughter and occurrences, we could start with an exchange of experiences, quite pleasant, where everyone talked about how many days he had been at Steemit, what content he published, how he had gone financially, among others.

So we spent a few minutes while bitcoinrute prepared everything to start with his presentation. I felt like a fish in the water, I felt the emotion of speaking the same language with the other stemians, and I felt the passion to share quality content, of different themes, some like literature, others of science, others of the technology, others of gastronomy.

In short, this is Steemit, a unique and at the same time diverse platform for its versatility of themes shared by each of the stemians.

Learning from Bitcoin

The moment arrived and Bitcoinrute began its participation by talking about the Blockchain, it told us how it started the bitcoin, it summed up the story of Lehman Brothers and the biggest banking crisis ever known worldwide.

Little by little it was delineating how Bitcoin began to become a means of digital exchange, based on person-to-person transactions, without the need for a governing system to govern them, as it does in the case of conventional banking transactions.

I thought it was a very interesting topic. And I liked the way of treating it, very didactic and through simple examples bitcoinrute was able to explain to the audience all the basic notions of the Blockchain, so much that it aroused my curiosity and I will start to delve more on this subject.

Knowing more about the Steemit Platform

Then bitcoinrute went on to deal with what Steemit is. He defined it as a social network based on blockchain technology.

He explained that Steemit is a Content Platform, and I really liked his words when he said "The Value of Steemit is its content, it's not the money or the Steem". If we believed more in this way of seeing Steemit, we would find ourselves every day with more and more quality and original content.

It was emphasized that to be successful in Steemit, among other things, you must:

  • Share your content can generate you money and profits.
  • Value the content that others share.
  • Contribute value to the content that others share.
  • Convert the true value in the protagonist of the transaction.

He also highlighted that your earnings in Steemit, come from:

  • What you share, what you comment, what you vote and what you publish.

Now that I know the incredible, but particular history of these two brothers, I am amazed to know the origins of a community like Cervantes, which day by day supports all the Hispanics that make life on this platform.

There was also talk that by November 2017 the number of Steemit users was half of what it is today, which shows us that quality content is breaking down barriers of all kinds.

Bitcoinrute through his peculiar way of being and speaking, delighted us with his experiences and occurrences, masterfully conveying an impeccable thread and gave us some techniques and guidelines on the importance of using Markdown for the publication of the posts in Steemit. He also explained the importance of the tags at the time of publication and said that these should be exactly related to the content of the post in question.

Among the things that most caught my attention was what she said, "Steemit is transforming society for the better", and I totally agree. In this regard, I consider that to enjoy healthy quality content, overcoming linguistic, social, economic, cultural and other types of barriers.

Through his speech there was great emphasis that after publishing a post, as a user you should not miss the platform, you must build community, and this happens through the fact of reading and reviewing the content of others, of telling them, of vote and ensure that this wonderful platform every day has more quality content, because in the end its value lies in its content.

Enjoying a delicious snack

This was undoubtedly one of the best parts. They delighted us with a delicious meal and a refreshing drink that did not take time to take many photos, because the furor of the diners could more. And this was the moment to take a lot of photos that I share with you here with a lot of love.

A tasty snack.

A refreshing lemon tea.

A selfie could not miss.

Happy return

Something that was not planned, but without a doubt meeting them made my day much more great, we could exchange experiences and experiences, we took many pictures with the phone and guess what, with them I returned to San Juan de los Morros, and I did not have to go by bus. Thanks for all guys .

My first Cervantes MeetUp and I am honored to say that it was worth traveling by bus to Maracay and avoiding the trucks to enjoy such an important and useful meeting. I never knew that the experience was going to be so productive and enriching personally and professionally. Thanks to all who were present.

The photos are own. I took them with my phone.
