Just imagine that for a second..."eternal life." You'd never be able to feel any sensation as you can now...and you'd never be considered "human" again, either, despite having all your memories, and having the brain of "the human you once were." Worst of all would be the fact that, knowing that you WERE human, and knowing what you would have then become, you couldn't even say yourself that you were "human" at that point.

And you'd have this problem for eternity.

No. No way to live...maybe just long enough to get revenge on some douchebags that desperately need a good shit kickin', but after that? Definitely no kind of life.

I wouldn't mind trying such a life in a situation when I have no other options left except Death.

I am not sure about "You'd never be able to feel any sensation as you can now"

Sensations are electric impulses translated in the brain into what we call feeling and sensations.

If science can bring us to a live head with a bionic body, it will probably also bring us to feel and sense trough artificial electric impulses

I think I'm gonna give you that one. d;o)

When the only option is death, and you've REALLY got things to contribute to society as a whole, then yeah, I can see the benefits MAY, in some cases, outweigh the potential negatives.

Once they find out how to solve the nerve problem, as you say, that really would be the worst part of the problem solved. Even better, as it could then be used to repair people with spinal damage, and in many cases, get people's limbs functional again that way, as well.
