The way the media talks about Catholic voters is really bizarre to me.

Catholics are fairly secularized on politics.

A majority of Catholics want abortion to be legal.

The anti-abortion Catholics are mainly in the regular churchgoing white subgroup. And they are predominantly Republican voters anyways.

Hispanic Catholics on the other hand are predominantly Democratic voters.

It works out to a fairly even split on Harris versus Trump with Hispanic Catholics and less religious white Catholics supporting Harris and more religious white Catholics supporting Trump.
