RE: MBTI: My Personality Type

in #mbti7 years ago

I have been INTP every time I've taken this test.

I find it to be fairly accurate. What I find weird is how often I seem to come in contact with INTJs who are one of the smallest population groups. We often hold similar opinions yet clash all the same. I've been interested in MBTI since I've heard about it and I have successfully guessed the type of several people. It helps a bit to know how to interact with people and how to manage expectations.

Sort:

INTJ here, we're stubborn as hell when we think we right, even if we're just slightly more right than you ;).

Edit: I actually posted that before reading your second post. It's about right. Trying to be a little more P in my life.

You're INTP? That's awesome!! My dad is INTP as well. It's interesting how one letter makes us so different from each other, yet in many ways we're alike. :)

I've always been intrigued by the idea of meeting an INTJ. Women INTJs are the rarest of all MBTI types. I think the percentage is .05%. Truth be told I've only met male and that has only been online when they responded to my MBTI articles haha! Never in real life. You say you clash with them. How so?

Did you know that there's more behind your four letter combo? Your cognitive functions as an INTP are as follows (from most prominent to least): Introverted thinking, extraverted intuition, introverted sensing, extraverted feeling. One reason I love MBTI is that it delves into how our brains work. :) Thanks for your comment!! :)

INTJ, you can ask me all the questions you want!

You're INTJ? Awesome!! Your personality type is very mysterious to me. This might seem like a lame question haha but here goes: Most evil villains portrayed by Hollywood are INTJs.

How do you feel about that? Do you identify with their characters or do you think they are poor representations?

They are the best villains though! INTJs are often seem outwardly cold, are often highly intelligent, rational to a fault, and highly confident in their ability. These traits make them complex and somewhat unrelateable for most people, hence they make a great foil to the hero's mass appeal.

The I and T together are relatively benign. It's the N and J where if misapplied can lead to a skewed world view. But those traits also make for strong leadership (again, good for portrayals of a big bad). I think I stay grounded enough where I don't fall down the rabbit hole like a lot of those villains, the only one from that picture I sort of relate to is Magneto.

You don't see a lot of female INTJs because a lot of their traits are often discouraged in girls by society.

I don't think I've ever met one either. Ayn Rand was one though. So was Karl Marx. How's that for contrasting two sides of the same coin.

INTPs are good at finding and determining truth, but don't always like to draw conclusions. For us, well at least me, the saying "If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it must be a duck." isn't necessarily true. I mean it's probable, but it also might be a parrot. The world wants to know if it is a duck and as an INTP, my answer is "probably". I don't have enough information to prove conclusively that it is in fact a duck. The INTJ will take the data and analyze it in the same manner, but would reach the conclusion that it is a duck, then vigorously defend that position until death. They are so sure about it in fact that they hold disdain for those who can't understand and often end up talking down to those people. At least that has been my experience.

Of course I'm bias, so take that with a grain of salt.
