Modeling In Maya 2017 Polygon face Model

Using Maya 2017 to create Poly Face model. This is a basic tutorial for creating a character model in Maya for games or animation.

Shoot 2 photos – front and side of your face and make sure the images on square in PhotoShop. Make sure they line up and are the same size. You can do this by layering them in PhotoShop and using guides and transparency to line up the eyes, mouth ear ect.

Open up a new Maya scene and import the images in the front and side view. Create one poly plane with one division and begin modeling the face using the extrude tool. Select the edge of the poly and choose extrude. If you need to stitch the vertexes back together use the merge tool.
Upload a jpg of your final model – this should take about 4 hours.
