Thanks for giving me a kick in the pants. I am at the beginning stages of learning programming and I quickly realised that, if I didn't acquire a basic foundation in mathematics, I won't be able to become good enough.

I did brush up on arithmetic and pre-algebra and actually enjoyed it, but for some reason my mind is never in the mood for it.

It's like walking up a mountain. Your whole being looks for excuses not to do it... "it will be hard, you will get tired, it will hurt, etc.". Until you actually do it and the rewards outweigh the difficult parts, which weren't as difficult as your lazy brain told you it would be...
