Deciphering Challenge and Ternary Computing Exercise (Russian Computing, Using Trinary "Trits")
Can you decipher, the four-character word encoded in base three (rather than binary, base two)?
Hint: multiply the 0, 1 or 2 ..by the value for the corresponding order of magnitude in base three *9, *3, *1, etc...
Confirmation hint: a short message, to the Polish code-breakers of WWII, that deciphered the early iterations of Enigma-encrypted radio traffic.
I had to build tools, for dealing with numbers in base three (b3 tools) ..or use paper and pencil.
The four-character message (3 * 4 = twelve trits), is then encoded to base ten or base Mega that creates six-digit segments. Each segment carries four lowercase characters or blank spaces (space = 000).
Now the first four-character message is stored within the base Mega carrier segment, 158532 ..ready for transmission.
In some cases, modern digits require only four bits of storage, commonly used characters of the alphabet use eight bits. Our four characters (usually 8 * 4 = 32 bits) are stored within six digits (4 * 6 = 24 bits). A potential savings of one byte, eight bits (for basic lowercase communication).
Who has tools for handling base three? ..only the developer of mathematical/ software solutions. You cannot just type TRI or TERN as a programming language keyword, the way BIN can be used to convert base ten numbers to their binary representation.
This particular method of communication, lends itself well to mental calculations and computing on paper, for the purpose of mathematically secured data transmissions (early stages of protocol design, the handwritten form).
Not obfuscated yet, that was only the data carrier.

I made some encoding mistakes the first time, letter-counting using only my mind. The method is functional but I failed my own trinary/ ternary computing exercise ..that is the intent, practice encoding (I know the mistakes, lesson gained).
I sent the anonymous message, from the payphone at approximately 7:00 pm. It is past nine o'clock and the message has not reached my inbox yet, still waiting...
I have tinkered at this issue over coffee, many times during the recent four years, this should be functional. I suppose Bell handles e-mail all at once during the day? ..if this is a slow but secure protocol, I can accept that as a success.

The model of payphone is known as a Millenium phone ..long ago, phone phreaks called them "fortress phones." I knew too much about phones and computers at fourteen. I have kept the BlAcKpHrAcK handle, since the days of bulletin board systems, prior to the internet becoming commonly available.
A learning exercise, among many, each contributes to further development of solutions.
Here is proof, the service functioned earlier this year. I had no codec at the time (I had only recently implemented the base Mega solution), I sent a random series of numbers to test the means of anonymous communication.
Does this mean the service no longer functions, now that I have an encoding and data carrier to test the method? ..more than twenty-four hours without the receipt of the message, suggests the service is defunct.
The encoding will work just fine without but anonymous communication, is one more layer of insulation while behind enemy lines. Where I was born, six million became Nazi-helping traitors for two decades (family-murdering people I despise, H8 and loath till there are none remaining to impose upon and destroy people like me).
