The Wayland Li Wushu 20th Anniversary Gala

On November 24th 2018 was the 20th Anniversary of the Wayland Li Wushu club. Sifu Li is one of the most highly respectable coaches in Canada, training many top level Wushu athletes who competed at national and international competitions. I was one of them, so naturally when he called me to demonstrate i was happy to do something. Sifu Li brought back students from 2 previous generations from the 1990s, 2000s and current athletes. It was good to see many past athletes under one roof again.

This Gala showcased many old athletes who performed there routines in front of a packed restaurant which was showcased on Fairchild TV, a local Chinese TV station in Toronto. I demonstrated a few sections of Nanquan(southern fist) which i use to compete with back in the early 2000s.

Following the Demonstration we were treated to a nice 10 course Chinese meal at the restaurant. I think i was worth it to be able to feast on this lobster dish.
