FITNESS AMBASSADORS!

What do you think about the current state of the fitness social media industry and fitness ambassadors?

• Many fitness clothing and supplement brands recruit people with high social media clout or even low social media clout to become "Ambassadors" for their company allowing them to use a code such as "ACohenFit" and gain 10% their clothing as well as their followers who use the code.

• I can't quite grasp whether this is just a marketing ploy setup by these companies to engage individuals to buy their clothing at a seemingly cheaper cost or whether they truly do believe that the ambassadors do get a good deal by getting 10% off. Am I just naive or ignorant to the scheme or is it more simple than I think?
