As can be witnessed, in the span of a year starting from the beginning of 2017 to the beginning of 2018, the total market cap of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies has increased from below 20 billion dollars to above 0.5 trillion dollars.

While it is difficult to predict the future total market cap of cryptoccurencies, I believe one can make a simple assumption that blockchain technologies will continue to exist, improve, and evolve as the applications of blockchain will grow more and more broadly across many industries.
