Bann of marijuana in India

Marijuana which is related to the Hindu religion and even once widely used as ayurvedic cure for stress reliever,pain killers and also recently discovered as a cure for cancer.It was banned in India under the pressure of UN as Americans wanted Indians to bann marijuana by saying that marijuana is used as synthetic drugs,during the period of Rajiv gandhi.
I don't know how an herb which grows in the wild Can be called synthetic.
Now america have legalized marijuana in many states and if we study reports we can see that there is less consumption of alcohols,less persons in depression.Marijuana is also used in many states in America for manufacture of medicines
In India marijuana is still bann except for himachal where marijuana plantation had been lately legalised that too we will have to take permission from the state government.
Youths are into drugs and alcohol which is more harmful than marijuana.
