I don't partake myself, but I live in Colorado and we've only really had good things happen from going this route.

Those in power often attain power by black market deals on things that get banned. Also a large portion of our prison population around the country is in prison for possession. They didn't actually hurt anyone. If enough states legalize Marijuana and the sky doesn't fall what might that say about all of these people in prison, who shouldn't be.

I wish they'd end the war on drugs and legalize (or at least decriminalize) everything. Portugal decriminalized the use of ALL drugs in 2001 and things have gone great there. Drug crime is almost non-existence, drug abuse is lower, HIV due to needles is almost gone. The people there must have realized we shouldn't be telling other people what they can do with their body. :) Go figure!
