If we look at the evolution of the internet:
Internet 1.0 - First Generation of the Web Web 2.0 - Introduction of Social Media, Sharing of User Generated Content And now we are building to Web 3.0 The Third Generation of the web - The Internet of Value Many attempts were made to get Crypto Currency into the mainstream and as many as possible users of the currency. Steemit is according to me the first killer app to make this possible… I have never had the urge to buy bitcoin :) I am however more and more interested in all Crypto Currencies…
STEEMIT has in my books put Crypto Currency on the map and many people will start to Buy and Sell various Crypto's as a result.
A very important note for all of us trying our utter best to be noticed and build a reputation is that like anything new, the creators and developers of the STEEMIT platform, requires all our inputs into the future of STEEMIT. I have been in the IT industry for many years, developed many software applications and products. One thing I can promise you is that in my experience end-users of the systems and platforms have a massive impact of the direction. I suspect that the steemit development team, are looking at the trends that are developing amoungst the end-users of the platform to see how they can improve the future platform.
- How do people vote?
- What do people vote for?
- What time of the day are people posting?
- Why do certain posts trend?
- What don't people like?
- Why are people commenting on specific posts?
I am sure we can expand the list into eternity as there are just too many questions to ask. May users of Steemit are posting that they are frustrated about their posts not being up voted. I fully agree and it is frustrating for me as well. If we look at the user stats we can see that there are categories of users, and the smallest user bases are the Superhero's and the legends - a Total of 220 whales and dolphins: Now 220 users will really struggle to read each and every post made, hence they cannot upvote all the posts.
What we need is more Whales in the community.
This can only come through time and the evolution of the users. More and more users will earn more and more steem power and therefor, More Whales WILL be created through time.
If we have more whales we have more people that can upvote valued posts into the trending area...
As per my earlier post, https://steemit.com/steemit/@jacor/account-freeze-build-a-reputation-while-you-can
All we can do is ensure to build a good reputation , and community and we WILL be rewarded through time. I believe that the steem white paper is a very good read for each and every one of us, as the "Testers" of this exciting new platform. The White Paper outlines the vision of the platform. https://steemit.com/steem/@liondani/steem-whitepaper-download
