A Story to Introduce Myself

This is the Hudson River at sunset yesterday, seen from Battery Park City in Lower Manhattan looking across the river to New Jersey. The tide was going out quickly, right to left. The Hudson River empties into Lower New York Bay at this point and is considered a tidal estuary. Combined with the speed of the river, the outgoing tide makes the boats on the river appear to be moving very quickly. The Mahican Indians that lived along the river called it "the river that flowed both ways" because the water flows into the mouth of the river when the tide comes in. This is one of my favorite spots to sit.

Due to global warming, the summer season in New York City is three weeks longer than it once was. By the end of August, we once would be wearing jackets in the evening. In very warm years, we would have an unusually warm September that we would called an Indian Summer. Now the warm weather continues through the end of September. Last night the temperature was 81ºF/27ºC. Some years the trees have remained green until November.

I'm an inventor. I'm usually walking around Manhattan with my backpack and notebook. Walking is the best way for me to think. I will spend several hours a day walking and thinking. If an idea occurs to me, I am very careful to write it down quickly. Otherwise, it will be lost in the next few minutes. I'm always thinking and exploring some new piece of technology. Currently, I have been very interested in Bitcoin. It seems that several people here are, too. I look forward to chatting with you.
