The curious case of Mandy Sellars began at a young age when her legs and feet started growing at an exponential rate. In 2010, when she was 35, her legs weighed as much as a hundred kilos and she started to develop serious infections because of it, prompting her to have her left leg
amputated. But just months after the operation, the doctors were dumbfounded to see her leg growing again.

Finally, in 2012, after undergoing numerous tests, the doctors were finally able to diagnose her condition more correctly and Mandy was given a trial drug to help shrink her gigantic legs. She lost 10 kilos within the first three months of her treatment, and three more kilos in the succeeding months, enabling her to wear a prosthetic leg.
