Why Malta and why not!
Why Malta?
Below information is mostly for people that want to live in Malta.
Malta is a island surrounded by Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and North Africa coast.
During summer this island is crowded by tourist, retirement and students that came for a courses to study languages.
In winter it's more relax and calm and most of these group are gone back home.
Work is also hard to find during winter.
Work
Working in Malta is vary, Igaming industry is very popular, restaurants and bars as well for most foreigners especially during summer.
My self, I work in the Igaming company for 2 years already.
Most of the Igaming company they are looking for natives that will handle their natives customers such as the Scandinavian natives, German, Dutch and English.
Living
The flats and apartments here is getting very expensive. The more center you live, you will end up paying 800 - 1,000 eur per month, electricity bills might included or not is up to what you will find.
The more you live outside the center, the cheaper it gets but the price started from 400 eur range already. Mostly, here they will find a flat mate to share the rent.
We were lucky enough to find a penthouse with 2 beds and 2 bath with the overlooking at the sea 550 eur per month, it is near the coast road, far from center about 40 minutes by bus.
Transportations
If you do not own a car, bus is the only option for your traveling.
You will need to apply for the bus card, called Tallinja.
If you pay per trip without the bus card the price is 1.50 eur for winter and 2.00 eur for summer and valid for 2 hours.
In summer buses are packed with travelers like in a tuna can, they also have the right to skip you at the bus stop when the bus is full. This is the worst part for bus users.
You then need to plan your traveling hours in advance.
Motorbike is not an ideal, people are driving crazy here and accident happened every other days.
