What is the latest profitable stream of income that can change my life? Is the question boggling most Millennial. The current new wave in the economy has seen risky measures taken to try and level up income cash flow structures, just to keep afloat and save for that dream vacation or buy that heading turning ride.

There are so many professions that are as old as time, and to this day they are still in demand and so is the supply high to close the gap. (I bet you thinking am driving towards prostitution. No way. I would not encourage anyone to subscribe to it). The Japanese Sumo fighters or call them wrestlers have been around since time began. According to different legends, the game spans as way back as the 1600s during the Edo period. Some historians argue that the game must have been in practice way beyond that period.

The history and ancestral practices attached to this sport is so fascinating and creates a thirst for enthusiastic theorists to dig deeper to unearth any possible lingering research questions.

The main gist of the game was mainly for entertainment, though initially, it was a game meant to strengthen and train incoming and established Samurai fighters. Highly enjoyed by the royal family, in such a way prompting orders from above for tournaments to be scheduled yearly furthermore, representatives came from all over Japan to compete.

So who are these sumo wrestlers that> "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumo" have kept the legacy light shining to this day? I would describe them as mean-looking, though some are handsome and make good father figures because of the strict personal growth lessons they learn from the communal stables where they train from. Measuring up to 5ft 8, with a high mass of weight, huge bellies with the waist covered in strong mawashi belt (loincloth) worn during training or in a competition (looks like a G string). Professionals in higher divisions wear what they call a keshō-mawashi. The game is made up of six divisions; the higher one proves to climb the division levels, the more respect, salary and fame he receives.

To maintain your grip on the highest division, all depends on performance during the tournaments. In case of any poor performance, one is prone to be demoted to the lowest ranks in the lowest division. And who will pride in being demoted from a stardom position to doing chores around the stable. The shame that comes along with a demotion. I bet no one wishes that, but sometimes that happens in life.

Remarkably, you are thinking of adding an extra stream of income, look no further, becoming a SUMO fighter will get the goal ticked off on your bucket list. You might not have the weight, no worries, every sumo fighter started tiny or medium just like you are. The recommended weight is 160kgs (200 pounds). Wondering how to achieve all that in a short time, don’t be surprised, these wrestlers do not turn to eat junk food, but a strict diet of vegetable soup called chankonabe, which has become a household name in Japan and high-end restaurants around the world. No wonder, some fighters who have retired from the game have opened up restaurants serving this ancient meal.

Chankonabe is made up of the following; fish, vegetables, chicken or beef meat and tofu. Served in a huge pot all adding up to about 20,000 calories. The usual human being is entitled to 2700 calories a day. In the stable after training at 11 am or midday, they hit the dining table to divulge close to around 12 to 13 bowls of this mouth-watering soup, and the soup that remains, noodles are thrown in there, probably a lot of packets of noodles. The Japanese are strict when it comes to resources for they don’t fancy throwing food in the trash because they value the efforts of the person who prepared the meal.

After the meal, a bottle or crates of beer accompany the meal to wash down the chankonabe. Beer is some sort of dessert for this food. Some wrestlers can drink up to six beers. After the drinks, along siesta is highly encouraged for it helps the body absorb the food and prevent unnecessary movements to avoid calories from being burnt. Remember, the bigger the wrestler, the more advantage he has to overcome opponents. Though in some circumstances, small wrestlers with less mass have proved to defeat gigantic opponents in some tournaments.

Curiously wondering how much these guys are paid. Depending on the division and your skills, you can take home from around $8000 to $27,000. The game is meant for men, but the rules have changed quite a lot over the past years, though Japan maintains the rule that it’s only for men, nonetheless women in western countries have been given the chance to embrace the game.

On the other hand, the game does have its side effects for those who have earned from it. Recent medical reports prove that before retiring, a wrestler may struggle with life-threatening diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, liver problems due to many years of consuming alcohol and arthritis. The life span of a sumo fighter ranges from 60 to 65 years.

Sumo wrestling has seen a drastic decline in attendance of fans and recruits precisely because of scandals that have hit the Japan Sumo Association over the past couple of years, some fighters have become concerned and worried about foreigners who have embraced the sport and since every generation has its taste and preference, Japanese Millenials don’t think signing up for sumo training is the coolest thing to do. They feel better off hiding in their rooms playing Call Of Duty on their PS4s. Sumo fighting is now number four most played game in Japan.

There you have it. Are you ready to undergo a biological surgical operation to attain as much weight as possible to earn an extra $8000 to $20,000 every month as sumo fighter?
