Greetings!

I believe magic is alive and well all around us and is active in many forms.

If you ask some magicians, they will tell you it is the art and science of causing change to occur in conformity with will,

A mentor and friend of mine would say that to create is preform a magical act.

Others still will tell you that there is a distinct difference between the verb of magic and the state of being magical, just as a hypnotherapist will tell you that there is a difference between preforming hypnosis and being hypnotic.

I believe that there are only a few distinct types of people, and that how we experience life depends upon the state we chose to take. Look upon Plato and his allegory of the cave. There are those who whish to remain in the cave and those who chose to walk out of it.

Once free from the cave we are given an opportunity to begin to experience an opportunity to experience magic, or reality in the light, however there are those who don't like it, and run back to the cave to stay because it's more comfortable, there are those who to experience life and build a new reality for themselves (doing magic) but then there are the few who try to understand the light, and use it to bring enlightenment to those in the cave, (at times being hated for it) and to share it with those outside of it creating more magic through their magical nature. They begin to become identified with the light and in so doing they begin to become that magic.

How we experience the realities of life is based upon what we chose to allow ourselves to experience, what we chose to chase after, as well as what we do with what we find.

Magic is largely also perception. 700 years ago my lighter would have been magic, 300 years ago hypnosis was magic (it still is to some) and at one time the connected nature of all things, clearly understood by every priesthood in the world was magic. Today it is science, and quantum science. The mysteries are magic and once they are given explanations, for some reason they loose their magical value in the minds of many. Is the change work that occurs in the lives of my clients any less magical today than it was 300 years ago, I think not. But, each person will have their own view and it is the diversity that makes life beautiful.
