Maersk to welcome methanol vessel in Copenhagen in Sept

Maersk will host a week of festivities to celebrate the world’s first container vessel sailing on green methanol, including the name giving event and other activities, on September 18–21 in Copenhagen, Denmark. "The 2,100 TEU feeder vessel is a small piece of history in the shipping industry," says an official release. The 172-metre-long vessel will leave the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea this summer to embark on her maiden voyage to Copenhagen. The vessel sails at a designed speed of 17.4 knots, the release added.
