insick's Song Lyrics (part 2): The Game We Play
Hello Steemians,
today we are going to take a look at some older lyrics I wrote about 7 - 8 years ago. These are probably my favorite lyrics of all lyrics I have ever written. A friend and I also finished a song with them that I quite like but sadly there are no good recordings of us playing it.
Here we go then:
The Game We Play
The weekend is gone
With it tons of fun
Cause nothing stays forever
Again everything went away
It wasn't even summer
That's the game we play
And when I think of you tonight
I ask myself if this is right, if this is right
This can't be even right
Another city, other friends
I held other hands
But nothing stays forever
Sometimes I need to pray
For everything and nothing
Cause that's the game we play
And when I think of you tonight
I ask myself if this is right, if this is right
This can't be even right
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
Nothing stays forever
Cause our constant is change
What will I have done
When I am gone
Cause nothing stays forever
The clock takes life away
And we won't stay
Cause that's the game we play
And when I think of you tonight
I ask myself if this is right, if this is right
This can't be even right
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
Nothing stays forever
Cause our constant is change
And we run
Run so far
Run so fast
To escape the scars
Life leaves in our hearts
We run so far
And we run
Run so fast
Run so far
To escape the things
We did in the past
We run so fast
