Central Bank of Bahrain tests bitcoin payment infrastructure

A provider of bitcoin infrastructure, will test its payment processing and payout platform in Bahrain, within a regulatory sandbox operated by the Central Bank of Bahrain.

US-based OpenNode has been approved to participate in the new regulatory sandbox framework, which enables fintech firms to test their ideas and solutions in the state.

By introducing infrastructure for Bitcoin-based transactions, OpenNode aims to bring payment innovation to Bahrain that promises to kickstart something big, OpenNode said in a statement.
