Ethereum (ETH) Community Rages At Uniswap Labs Decision To Delete Fork From GitHub

in #lsdkhlslast year

The Ethereum community is in turmoil after Uniswap Labs, a startup that aims to build on the Ethereum network, decided to remove a fork from its GitHub repository.

The fork was created by a user named biohacker and is called ETH2. The fork website describes it as a hardfork proposal for Ethereum that will enable large-scale decentralized applications. It also says that the project is developed by a team of developers who are working on several projects including an encrypted peer-to-peer messaging platform.

Uniswap Labs told CoinDesk it removed the project because it was not authorized to host fork-related code on its GitHub repository. He also said he doesn't want to be associated with ETH2 because the project has the potential to cause problems for Ethereum users and exchanges. Uniswap Labs CEO John Lovett said in an interview with CoinDesk,

We are not taking sides on this. However, other members of the community criticized Uniswap for removing ETH2 from its official GitHub repository, even though it itself is not actively developing or promoting the project.
