Love Story: 5 Years and Counting

There was a line that says, "Love is friendship set on fire." I'm pretty sure that almost all of us has been astounded with the magical feeling of being inlove. It is such a wonderful thing to have.

The feelings in that very moment I met him still lingers in my mind. The memories were very clear. Everything started in just a casual friendship, that soon developed into becoming best of friends. What we have as bestfriends was special. We had a great kind of bonding. We valued each other's opinion, always find time for each other and shared that kind of trust and security.

It came to the point that some people already suspected us to be more than just friends. Weekends were not complete if we will not spend it together. No to secrets and lies used to be our rules. We even shared our doubts, pain disappointment, and we celebrated each other's achievements. This scenario lasted for several years eventhough we had our own special relationships with someone else. Still we managed to find time for each other. Yes, there were times before that we both asked ourselves if why can't we have more than just being friends. We can't find any reason if why not, until that very moment I cannot forget. One moment that really changed everything. He expressed a feeling of affection for me. As I reminisced that time, it seemed that everything went blank. How I loved to say yes but there's certain fear and confusions within. I can't explain why and how but we just find ourselves as couple sharing that same feeling - love.

We were then deeply in love with each other. Childish quarrels did exist but we're able to fix everything and chose to be together for weeks, months, then for years, actually for more years. But just like any other relationship, ours has been tested with trials. We've been through a lot of ups and downs. Family issues, time and distance were among our problems. We also came to a point that we almost gave up. But as we were being tested with these so-called spices of love, we became stronger and more in love.

We've fought hard for our love until such time issues on trust came across. I gave up on him just for someone else in which I can't even explain why. We lost communication for a couple of months but with his much effort and some of our closest friends, we bumped into each other again, forgave, and chose to give our love story a chance.

Yes, we just have a typical story of love. The road into it has been so rough sometimes and slippery. We got disappointed and hurt not just once but for so many times, but did we chose to give up? The answer is no, and if time comes that I will be having a second life, I will still chose what we have.

As of now, distance separated us but it's not a big deal. This never been easy but with our love for each other, we knew that we're gonna face all the obstacles, fighting for each other. We're now far from each other due to his work but we kept loving each other. Communication is very important and that we should maintain.

For now we're still together not just for 2 or 3 years but for 5 years and still counting. Yes, we do have plans of tying knots someday in God's perfect time. I know our love story is not like those in novels and television but what's important is that we kept God to be in the center of it.
