Introducing myself with a 'heart-to-heart' message for all of you steemians here!
I hope every one of you read this, because it'll make Steemit even better!
My name is Jonathan Alexander, also known as Joe Alex among my friends and the 'Tip Capsule' among colleagues, team members. and co-workers.
I used to resent social media; I resented how people were wrongly interacting with it, not to mention how it sucked the time out of their life, and killed the magic of their social interactions and relationships, how party invitations were digitized, and lost its personal touch. How breakups are done over instant messages, and dating is being virtualized.
But wait a minute! Doesn't this Make me anti-technology? Not at all, I make a living out of loving it, most of my readings and writings are about it. I work in a field that would have never existed without it. So what am I trying to get at?! The answer to this questions is exactly why I joined steemit yesterday, and I wanted to share it with you.
First of all, this is the first "non-business related" social media account I've ever created, and I never use my colleagues, co-workers, team members, friends or family to show you how socially well-rounded I am. That's why my steemit profile doesn't come with a bundle of followers from other aspects of my life to lure you into that feeling. Although it might sound ridiculously tempting for steemit to invite friends and family to the community to grow it, but I'd argue against that, I don't want followers that are not as passionate as I am to be in my followers list. The same way I don't hire anybody who is not as passionate and as keen as I am to run my business, or as cautious as I am to watch my kids.
Trust me, you don't want this in your community, and allow me to say (our community) despite the fact, that I'm literally born yesterday as a steemian, but I was checking out posts from here and there, to see what this community is made of, what makes it special, and I gotta tell you... Hats off! I'm in... I want to be a part of this, but as I always do with my friends and family I always share with them what I like about them, and in a reciprocal fashion, they're tempted to tell me what they like about me, so that both of us might work out a way to increase the bits that we both like about each other, so we can keep that relationship going as long as we can.
Let me start by saying, if you want steemit to reach out, let's make it as fair, and as collaborative as we can, keep an eye out for those who didn't get the appreciation they deserve, make it a part of our daily routine, to skim through articles, and find those who are writing good content, but not yet on the trending charts, make them have a taste of that sense of achievement that keeps their ball rolling, because let's face it... Isn't it what's already happening in real life,
people work their asses off and never get noticed, while others who are well-connected, with a fraction of their skill set, get it all. Everybody is self-centered, cares only about himself, and doesn't give a rats ass about everybody else, and if someone starts to care society looks at him as if he or she's an alien. Even worse, people who care suddenly feel that they're going against the current.
It's not a bad thing to reach a goal using the right instruments as long as you have the right qualification and talent for that goal, but it's even better, to help others use these instruments too.
Steemit is a seed for a drastic change in the world of social media, so let's keep it that way. Although the currency that is fueling this platform is a Cryptocurrency, we want the currency that powers up the community to be the mutual appreciation and respect, not only because the rules of the community are based on it, but also because we embrace it and we use it as fuel that distinguishes our steemit interactions from any other community.
I've high hopes for you steemit members out there, because you started something that you're going to be proud of, and I hope I'm not mistaken, but your reputation precedes you, specially when it comes to collaboration and support for your fellow writers, who invest in their time and effort to share their best stuff with you.
Wow! that came out a bit longer than I expected. Well enough pep talking, I just wanted to say I'm glad I joined you here, Have a nice day!
Hello! I just wanted to say that you should not follow these two guys. They are just spammers, they did not even read your post, they are just copy-pasting at everyone under the introduceyourself tag in hope of gaining followers. I flagged them for that. Wish you all the best!
Thank you for the tip, Really Appreciate it, and I'll keep this in mind the next time I post
