What's In A Name?
“Something wished for or desired”
How many times do our wishes come true?
The proverb, “What man proposes, God disposes“, is enough to demotivate anybody who wishes. But, have you ever woken up quite early in the morning? Or maybe not slept throughout the night and eventually ended up watching the first rays of the sun? The rays that fall on the green grass and make the tiny droplets of water on them shine like pearls. Can a poet stop himself from wishing to pen down this moment? Or can a painter stop himself from capturing this scenic beauty on his canvas?
She is that, to me. I am no poet. Neither am I a painter. I won’t write verses nor will I make a painting of her, for I fear whether I could do justice to all that freshness, all those emotions she brings with her. But I ‘wish’. I wish that she keeps smiling. Anybody can fall for that dimple adorning her left cheek.
But it isn’t just that. Her smile has a healing effect.I don’t need any drug, Just that smile and I can forget all my sorrows, all my pain. Has anybody seen her eyes glitter? I swear it is nothing less than pearls shining in
stark darkness.
Above all, has anybody seen that woman in her? The caring nature, the way she tries to treat everyone equally and those innumerable small things she does (I really can go on), can personify womanhood! And yet, she manages to cover them all with her innocence -a childish innocence, purest of all. Not even a seasoned criminal can cover up that well.
I wish someday I could tell her all this, without making her uncomfortable. And I hope… I just hope, she will smile just the way she did when I told her she looked beautiful for the first time.
“Something wished for or desired”
Yes, that’s the meaning of her name.
Ask again – “What’s in a name?”
