To tat or not to tat

After the breakup which is sadly becoming a part of most love stories comes the vicious struggles to wipe off every memory of the former significant other. And of course what better place to start than the permanent ink of their name on your largest organ.
A lot of people have been criticicized about getting a tattoo. And the basis for this criticism is " we all know how most of these things end, so why bother ?" We've seen our male and female entertainers have multiple tattoos at different points in their lives, and multiple break ups of course. However after a break up, what follows is the visit to the laser shop for some serious etching out. The laser marks are there if you look keenly.
In my humble opinion, I think these unfortunate souls shouldn't be criticized for their tattoo decisions. Most people don't go into relationships thinking of the end. Even flings. The reasons for these tattoos are clear. The major one being a promise to love as long as possible. We all make these promises too, albeit in words or not so permanent media. "I'll love you forever." Sound familiar? The only difference is that when the break up comes, there is no word to etch out unlike the people who make these promises using tats. Its a different strokes for different folks kind of thing that usually happens in the heat of the moment, so please don't blame anyone that got a tattoo for the sake of love. They meant it at the time.
