Some famous love stories of ancient India

There are many famous love stories in the ancient history of India. Today I am sharing some of them.

1. As a youthful sovereign, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, while going through a town on the opposite side of Musi river, saw a delightful lady named Bhagmati and fell in adoration with her. But strong resistance came from his family because she was a Hindu and only a ordinary girl. In spite of that, he marries her. He found a whole city around Bhagmati's town and named it Hyderabad, after Bhagmati, as she was given the name Hyder Mahal after marriage.

2. Peshwa Baji Rao, who was a military general of Chhatrapati Shahuji, was romantically linked with a girl named Mastani. Since Mastani’s religion was different than that of Baji Rao’s, his family opposed their marriage. But defying all odds Baji Rao marries her. It was said that their affection was so great that after Baji Rao’s death Mastani committed suicide.
