Jelousy Ruins

If you have something special with someone, I beg of you don't let jealousy and paranoia take it away from you... Jealousy is a waste of emotions. It doesn't allow you see the truth as it is, it only let's you see the lies that are gold plated with facts. The truth is if you really love someone you should be willing to see the obvious signs and yet still hold on and trust them that nothing is going on... For those of you who are at the verge of spoiling something real, I'll leave you with this story, tho a bit lengthy I hope you read to the end.
On a sunny afternoon after tiring lectures Day was returning from lectures. He met this young beautiful lady Anna he kind of liked her. Prior to meeting Anna, Day had swore never to be in love again after he was played by his ex Tejumola into believing that she loved him. Even though, Teju sometimes still told Dayo she loved, the thought that he was just a fling, a distraction from her boyfriend whenever he wasnt emotionally available to her made Dayo irritated and sick to his stomach. Dayo would go sometimes for days without eating well, he couldn't concentrate and he was dying slowly from rejection where as Teju lived her live without knowing what was going on. Some weeks after the incident with Teju, Dayo met Anna and he was starting to feel like he could trust someone again. Anna was beautiful she was intelligent, even better than Teju which made Dayo love her more...

Evrime they were together, Dayo could notice this joy in her eyes and everything he wanted she had in excess. On day Dayo summoned all courage and he asked her to be his girlfriend... She giggled and smiled not saying a word and in a few weeks she agreed. That was the start of what could be described as a memorable life for Dayo. The two became inseperable.

Although Dayo loved Anna from his heart, there was a problem, Dayo was still emcaped in his mind about ladies. He still believed every girl was like Tejumola. Although Anna tried explaining that she was different, Dayo would have panick attacks frequently and sometimes he wouldnt sleep until he had drugged himself. Sometimes he told her other times he would keep it to himself not to make him look creepy to her. To make matters worse, Anna had a free spirit and she saw everyone equally and therefore called everyone by pet names. This most times made Dayo feel like she was deceiving him or maybe He was sharing her with someone esle. Dayo would check social media platforms and find her call people pet names and would feel bad, but then he would try not to talk and sometimes he would but Anna felt insulted by his words.

To some extent, Anna changed, and this was easy to explain by the fact that she loved him and she was trying to be herself around him at the same time balance up her life.

Dayo started to read more meaning to everything. He was naturally an active thinker which means he would stay up all night sometimes imagining things that were not.
Although his friends especially Ife who just broke up with her boyfriend who was behaving like Dayo warned Dayo to stop being jealous and paranoid, Dayo wished he could help it but he couldn't. All these continued with Anna always at the receiving end forgiving and forgetting everything until one faithful day...
On this day Dayo was reading through one of his social media platforms and he came across a guy who claimed to love Anna. Unknown to him they were just friends. His panic attacks came back and he went back to doing what he said he wasn't going to do. He started doubting Anna. This time Anna was getting frustrated cos she was tired and she felt she had enough of Dayo's incessant childishness and so she decided to call it quits.
Dayo couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the text 'it's over I cannot continue this way'. For the first time in his life, Dayo felt like he was dying. He cried and cried but no... She was gone for good. Now all that is left of her is memories, memories that kept hunting him. He wished he did better, he wished he had another chance... But all these were imaginations...
She was gone for good... Gone to find someone matured enough to understand her while Dayo was left in mysery and self pity...
