Sounds like you may be jumping the gun here: "clearly expressed interest in dating and possibly starting a relationship with the girl"

Honestly asking to meet your parents before you've actually started being in a relationship sounds like you are skipping a few steps, this isn't the olden-times where a man would have to ask your parent's permission to date you.

Suggestion: Try dating/getting into a relationship with him and then think of meeting family/friends.

I am not sure..
Either He is
Insecure
Wants to get to know You better,
Then, Maybe the Parents
Or
Is Not Sure About Relationship?

Spam much ?

I've expressed interest in a great many things in order to "progress" my relationship. Didn't mean it was genuine. I was never worried about moms, but professing my affection for a father's daughter when knowing it would be unlikely I would be around in a week was always a little intimidating.

It could really be an endless list of reasons.. likely that he's interested in getting to know you, not your parents.

Wow I see much spam here. Even a copy+paste. Anyway. Your boyfriend probably doesn't want to feel under pressure so soon. It's nerve wrecking meeting a girls parents. Maybe he doesn't want to let you down ? There so many reasons.
