The Girl Who Fell In Love For The First Time.
I know you’re going through a rollercoaster ride right now and believe me when I say ‘enjoy every moment of it.’ I know you’re used to being alone. You’re used to never having to text someone in the morning just to say ‘have a great day’. You’re used to going to sleep at night without having to share to someone how awesome or tiring your day was. You’re used to doing things your way and not asking someone for their opinion. You’re used to sleeping at 8pm rather than talking to someone until 12am. You’re used to not having to check your phone every minute thinking about what’s delaying his reply. You’re used to doing things on your own without having someone offer their help. And right now, as you are reading this, you might probably be feeling a little scared. Guess what? Me too. I know how hard it is to deal with these new emotions. I know how frustrating and how troubling it is that for once; you are no longer in control of them. Falling in love can be scary especially when you’ve heard your friends rant about how their boyfriends cheated on them or how shitty their relationship is. Perhaps what daunts you the most is the thought of losing him; that suddenly just when you’re madly in love with him he’ll disappear and never talk to you again. And I know that you are doing everything you can to not fall in love because you are afraid to get hurt. But that won’t work. I want you to forget all your doubts. I want you to remember that you now have the power to create your own love story. And if your story doesn’t end up well, so be it. Falling in love is the most liberating feeling but it’s also the toughest. It won’t go easy on you but you’re strong and I know you can handle this. I want you to understand that it’s okay to say ‘I love you’. For the first time in many years, you can finally say those three words to a guy that means so much to you. Don’t be afraid to say it, let those words flow out of your mouth and mean it.
I want you to know that there’s an amazing guy who would do anything to make you happy. Maybe along the away things go bitter and suddenly he is no longer the guy you fell in love with but that’s okay. It’s okay because not everything will shatter just because he’s gone. Your life doesn’t revolve around him and you know that. And yes, there’s probably a chance that you’ll get hurt. But that’s the beauty of falling in love. You get yourself broken and then you get to fix yourself, only this time you’re much stronger. Don’t let your fears stop you from being happy. You owe it to yourself to experience love in all its flaws and perfections.
And if falling in love was a mistake, then I tell you it’s the greatest mistake you have ever done.
