It has to be done daily. I really strongly detest the "hallmark" holidays that attempt to guilt people into recoginising those they "truly adore". It should be done every minute you're in that person's presence.

You're absolutely right @holoz0r. Most of my family has been 'long distance' for years. We make very sure that everyone knows they are loved, appreciated and wanted. It's been hard from time to time, but the effort put in by all so very comforting. When we do get together, lots of hugs and kisses. And so many wonderful memories.

I know it is for me. My daughter gets upset because I don't take a lot of pictures when we get to actually see each other. I just try to soak in everything, I honestly forget to take pictures. I can tell you about the whole visit though. Which reminds me I have a post or 2 I need to work on.

I kind of try and keep those messages random and not formulaic so they don’t become regular and unappreciated.
I have married friends who end every phone conversation with a cardboard “love you” that sounds so damn hollow it sickens me.
That being said, I have to make sure I am not reserving it only for rare occasions. Great reminder.

The cardboard lov ya ..... i HATE it but ther is no too much telling that i appreciate my loved ones, and i am a cuddler too hahahaah so i hope they feel the same when i tell them
Yah. When my daughter came home from school that day, I told her that when she goes off to school or whatever else, that I believe in her and know she is going to do well. She really appreciated it and it was good to get a reminder from you that I should be doing that.

Today it happens to be my best friend's birthday! I always tell them how much I cherish them without having a specific day. Years back I lost a dear friend all of the sudden and learnt my lesson that tomorrow may be too late to tell them how I feel.
