Ferrets

The ferret is a domesticated form of a European polecat. The same genitics as the weasels. They are still used for hunting rabbits in some parts of the world.
They are intelligent,friendly,and very curious. They are very playful and tind to get overly excited and my nip at your feet.
When my kids were younger I bought them a albino male his name was "Ozzy" a few months later my parents bought a multi color female "Sophie"for a playmate for Ozzy. My dad grew very attached to them.Ozzy ended up gaining lot of weight or so we thought. Sophie wouldn't leave him alone she followed him everywhere constantly smelling of him. The weight he gained was a tumor. He had cancer. He took radiation for monthsand ended up passing away. I thought surly my dad and Sophie would grieve themselves to death. They just bonded more.
My daughter bought another one years later his name is Skittles he looks like Sophie.
Sophie started acting odd and following dad everywhere. She was at his side 24/7. She smelled his clothes after he wore them. My dad went to Dr and found out he had stage 4 cancer. He passed away July 14 ,2016. Sophie ended up with cancer as well and passed away yesterday.
Skittles is a different story. He lives hiding things like keys,jewelry,shiny things . He also loves stuffed animals he hide them as well. He sleeps in a dresser drawer in a pair of sweatpants that belong to my dad.
Ferrets can and will kill reptiles,mice,spiders and roach's..
He is very playful he like to chase us. He would crawl up in the bed with me at night and I f I had socks on he would bite my feet. For some reason he doesn't like socks.. As far as we know Skittles don't have any health issues and we love him very much. I personally believe these little fellows can detect cancer. All the signs were there with my dad she done him and Ozzy the same way. I just never thought anything of it. They are processing e to getting cancer. Sophie lived 10 years she will be missed very much. My granddaughter is taking this very hard. .They do make great pets .
