Marco Antonio y Cleopatra
Marco Antonio iba en camino a las provincias de Oriente para pacificar una revuelta en Judea. Durante ese viaje se encontró con Cleopatra VII de Egipto y tras el flechazo instantáneo se hicieron amantes. Luego de un invierno juntos, él partió a Roma y se mantuvo ahí hasta cuatro años después cuando regresó con su amada. En septiembre del año 31 a.C., se llevó a cabo una batalla en la que la flota de Antonio y Cleopatra fue vencida por Octaviano; pensando que ella estaría muerta, Marco se suicidó y sabiendo la suerte que le esperaba como prisionera, la emperatriz también se quitó la vida.
