Smart products through Blockchain - LOOMIA
LOOMIA Are a tech company that are building smart products using the blockchain. They have the LOOMIA Electronic Layer (LEL) which is a soft flexible circuit with the ability to sense changes in its environment such as heat and touch that can be embedded into textiles. The layer can sustain up to 150 washes and dries, click here for their datasheet
What can be done with such a smart product?
The flexible thin layer can be used to heat seats, shoes, clothes, etc.
You can create touch sensitive fabrics
You could even use it for lighting
LOOMIA Tile
The tile is used in conjunction with the LOOMIA Electronic Layer (LEL). Users can transfer their data to a desktop application that allows them to manage and sell their data to market researchers, in an anonymised fashion (pun intended). Take control of your personal data and monetize it while going about your daily routine. The LOOMIA enabled garments will capture data about product usage, location, body temperature, body motions (but hopefully not those kind of body motions), and environment. These kinds of data sets are very valuable to market researchers and big brands, now you can get paid directly with no middleman.
On their roadmap they are planning to integrate with Storj who do blockchain based cloud storage. They also plan to integrate with Swarm another blockchain based storage which is a native base layer service of the ethereum web 3 stack. Overall LOOMIA will be storage agnostic see page 8 of the whitepaper.
Token sale begins on 11th December 2017, TILE Tokens will start off as an Etheruem ERC20 token and will be convertable to Storj Tokens via LOOMIA's "token change" smart contract. They will also be convertible to Bancor through the token change smart contract. The TILE token will be useable on the Tile Platform.
