London Fridays in music!
Yesterday was one of the loveliest Fridays of the year: full of music, sun and lovely people. What else would one ask for?
After an intense 6h morning practice session- I have so much to learn! MANY concerts for 2018-2019 season- I had to teach one of my most talented piano students. Doesn't Kensington look fantastic on a late afternoon?
And then, the main course for the day: rehearsal and coaching with my beloved friend, soprano Elena Kokka. We had a fantastic hourly session with her world renowned vocal coach, Marcus. Human voice can do so much! Sometimes, even we the musicians get so impressed by it.
Elena and me are preparing a recital in Cadogan Hall, one of the world's most prestigious venues, in October. More to follow.
But the night was still long... a tradition that Elena has is inviting friends over dinner and drinks after our rehearsals. Sometimes this is all nice and civilised- sometimes drinks are too many, and after quite a bit of live classical music by Elena, me and our friends, pop music is on the decks and then the night gets lit! Yesterday was one of the quiet ones- much appreciated as I was exhausted. Finger food and drinks prepared by Elena and me, friends arrived, and then we kicked off for some music making:
We called it a night around midnight. Luckily! As I'm currently on the train to Oxford...
Celebrating life!
