1st ever wedding at the British Museum more like Bond movie
The British Museum has found itself facing a ‘Change of Use’ notice reforming it from a temple of Earthly treasures into one of exchanges of nuptials. The Museum is one of the most visited and at times controversial of British iconic establishments. Whether squabbling over the Elgin marbles or fending off calls to return antiquities to the Egyptians, it now seems the flamboyance of the architecture is to make a suitable backdrop for well-heeled lovers who are looking for something a little bigger than…. Well, life itself really!
The wedding planner in charge of making these dreams come true is himself a bit of mystery. Esteemed for integrity and discretion, he likes to stay out of the limelight, shunning even his own thousands of social media admirers. So much so that I shall omit his name from this post! The video embedded here is a promo for the wedding. It is worth considering the very idea of having a promo for one’s own wedding. Maybe that is the pinnacle of romance in the post-modern era? I have no idea although it was amusing to read of top celebrities bringing film crews on their holidays and enjoying being bossed around by a director to create cinematic memories. Personally I’d rather just chew over a few novels and and work my way through the local wine list but each to their own.
Intrigued to hear what others may think of the British Museum wedding concept?!
