Living in London: Diary #9

Hey fam,

its been a minute! Whats new?

Oh so the drawing above is a leftover from an illustration job I am currently doing at the moment. I have been comissioned to provide 6 illustrations by the end of this month.

I have been selected to compete with another Fine Arts student and an architect student for a mural design for DLA Piper (law firm) new office in London. I must say we have come up with an interesting concept which we will be proposing in two weeks or so - next week we are going to Dupond, the manufactorer of a material called Chorian, which the mural should be built of.

I have a new project in the form of a lecture coming up, it's going to be a collaboration with my friend Matthew. I am looking forward to it so much, have started working on it for a little bit and it feels good!

I had a meeting with AgeUK Islington this morning as I was tagging along with my friend, and I am invited to give a talk about my work on their artsnight in November. I might also be volunteering!

I am going to help to finish painting a public project at the Martin Luther Kings Adventure Park in a few weeks.

I have a secret musical project happening, I am not sure how its going to turn out but I am having a lot of fun already!!!

I have attended a monday lecture by kiwi artist Luke Willis Thompson, went to see some work at the Frieze, saw one minute of the Vietnamese Moon festival in Deptford and went out in Brixton last Saturday which was loads of fun and I got to hear some UK tunes :)

So in short, lots of new stuff, I wonder how it will all develop in the next few weeks but I am sure it will all be fine. My presentation last Friday went well (it was rather an introduction) and I have been given a few texts to read, which is so wonderful. I have great teachers, classmates, flatmates and new friends :)

I feel very much at home at the moment and even though things feel like they are slowing down (and I am working harder) I don't feel stressed, tired or out of energy. On the contrary, I feel alive, energised, challenged and happy.
