This whole day was dedicated to writing something on the book chapter on the Internet of things and Blockchain. Learned some very interesting things about how the convergence of things will happen around us. Let me help you understand how things will work.
The smart refrigerator
You keep your newly bought and boiled milk in the fridge. A smart fridge will know exactly how much milk has been kept in there. Now, you consume the milk throughout the day, and maybe some of it is left. Your refrigerator knows exactly how much is left in there. Based on analysis it makes using the everyday data of your consumption of milk, it derives your average consumption and stores this data.
Your fridge is connected to the internet and with that to the nearest favourite grocery store you buy milk from. As soon as the milk reaches a level called the "reorder level" - which you have set along with your cryptographic, unhackable digital signature - the refrigerator contacts the store through an app and orders for the milk.
