Emre Can Hits Back At ‘False’ Transfer Rumors

in #liverpool7 years ago

The soon-to-be out-of-contract Liverpool midfielder expressed his frustration at the unending transfer speculation.

Despite what would appear to be sincere attempts at preventing his transfer situation from being a distraction in the Liverpool close season, Emre Can has  irksomely found himself doing exactly that as the hullabaloo around where the midfielder will be next term only continues to grow.

Recent reports from That Paper You Wrap Your Chips In© claiming that Can was demanding  £200,000-per-week to re-sign with the Reds appeared to be the final straw for the German, forcing the 24-year-old to go with the nuclear option aka angrily posting on social media to refute the claims:

"I’ve just returned from international duty with the German team and working on coming back from injury,” the midfielder posted on Instagram."
"Interesting stories about me in the press! I’m no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours! Looking forward to getting back on the pitch asap. EC.”

The German international was forced to return to Anfield from the national team earlier than planned to continue rehabilitation on a back injury sustained in the 5-0 win over Watford nearly two weeks ago.

One can only speculate as to why there is so much fuss surrounding the 24-year-old; in part it could be due to Juventus chief, and primary suitor devoting an inordinate amount of time from his CEO duties talking about Can. It could be also that Can himself would appear to protesteth overmuch seeing as transfer speculation seems to be something he is more than happy to talk about it at any given opportunity.

Or maybe Emre Can is really that interesting. Who knows. Either way, the veteran midfielder should know by now that when it comes to media, fortune helps those who help themselves and stop talking .

But we get it, we here at TLO Towers surely aren’t helping matters by piling our own tiny URL straw on top of the creaking camel’s back—but c’mon, it’s the international break. Does anyone truly care that a 10-man Portugal succumbed to a resurgent Netherlands (proud though we are of our future captain)? Who even pays money to go to these meaningless matches? Is there anyone in world football less self-aware than Sepp Blatter?

Let’s all just woo sah our way to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
