Porto (0) Vs (2) Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals 2nd leg - Match Review

Jurgen Klopp's side travels to Portugal for the 2nd leg of their Champions League tie against Porto looking to keep the momentum going after their amazing 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday. Liverpool returns to the stadium where they came away with a 0-5 win last season already ahead after the first leg but Porto showed enough in the game at Anfield to suggest they cannot let their guard down completely and assume they are already through to the Semifinals. The clean sheet at home was vital and grabbing an away in the Estádio do Dragão may well be enough to finish the tie off.

Dejan Lovren started at centre back in the first leg but has been ruled out with an illness and Jordan Henderson came off during the game against Chelsea after picking up a knock, it wasn't thought to be too serious but it's likely he will be left out as a precaution. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has not travelled with the squad as he continues to regain his fitness after a long time off but Joe Gomez is fit again and has travelled to Portugal. Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to make wholesale changes and field a complete reserve team but may make a few changes to keep his players fresh for the title run in and the potential Champions League games still to come.

It may be too soon for Gomez to start but I would expect him to be on the bench and possibly come on towards the end of the game, Alberto Moreno is an option to come in at left-back but I believe Klopp will stick with the same back 5 that played at Anfield on Sunday. In midfield, Fabinho and Keita have been in good form lately but may be given a rest allowing James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum or Adam Lallana some game time. Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will all be desperate to play and continue their good form but there is a chance Divock Origi and Xerdan Shaqiri could get a rare chance to play but are more likely to appear from the bench if Liverpool can wrap up the tie with some away goals.

Sérgio Conceição's side bounced back from the loss at Anfield to win 0-3 away against Portimonense keeping them in touch with Benfica at the top of the Portuguese league. Moussa Marega, who missed some big changes in the first leg got on the scoresheet as well as winger Yacine Brahimi who may have earned a spot in the line up for the Liverpool game with Porto needing to go for it if they want to continue in the competition. The third goal was added in injury time by Mexican midfielder Héctor Herrera, he was suspended alongside defender Pepe for the first leg but both will surely come straight back in on Wednesday night. Pepe may be 36 years old now but the veteran centre back has bags of experience from his time at Real Madrid and will try every trick in the book to stop Salah and Mane and 5 yellow cards in just his last 8 games shows you he isn't shy of crossing the line to help his side and with the controversy surrounding Salah for his challenge in the first leg which went unpunished there is every chance we may see Pepe attempt to gain some revenge for his teammate with a hard challenge of his own.

Awaiting the winners will be a Semifinal against either Barcelona or Manchester United, Barca have the advantage after they won the first leg at Old Trafford but United will have a chance to turn things around at the Nou Camp tonight.
