What is the best transportation in Seoul?

There are lots of people and traffic in Seoul, South Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to use efficient transportation when traveling in Seoul. In this post, we'll find out which transportation is the most efficient and convenient for foreigners.

#3. Bus

There are inter-city buses and express buses that travel to other cities, and city buses that only travel within Seoul. Of course the description here is about the Seoul city bus. It's very convenient and comfortable at low fares. Even the air conditioner operates in hot summer like now.

However the disadvantage is that the travel time may increase depending on the traffic situation in Seoul. The traffic jam in Seoul is really terrible. Sometimes the bus arrives at the destination 30 minutes later than scheduled when traffic jam.(It's from my experience.)

Especially, don't ride the bus from 5:30 p.m. to nighttime if you want to comfortable travel. Because that time is the time for people get off work. I usually use the bus only when I go near, not far.

#2. Taxi

Taxi is very convenient and good transportation wherever you go. You don't have to stop at the bus stop every time, so you can travel relatively faster than the bus even in a traffic jam.

But the problem is fares. I don't know the fares of other countries' taxis, but I think Korea's taxi fares are expensive. The basic fare of up to 2 kilometers is 3,000 won, and 100 won is added to every 142 meters.(3,000 won = $2.66, 100 won = $0.09) If you don't have enough money, it can be too expensive to use it every time.

#1. Subway

The most popular transportation in Seoul is the subway by far. There are too many people during rush hour is a bad point, but there are still many advantages.

First, since it is subway, travel time is not changed regardless of traffic jam in Seoul. And second, you can easily access hot spots in Seoul by subway. The route map is more convenient for foreigners than the bus and well equipped with a system to help them use it. I usually use the subway more than bus or taxi when traveling in Seoul.
