RE: The end results of a contentious couple of years
What is the deal with 1/3 rd of your income for rent? This sounds awful. And waiting lists too. 30% more room and you have room for plants, but it is congested and noisy. Are there any better options out there?
It is written into every guideline I've found, but I can't nail it down to show you a link yet, but when I do I'll post it.
Suffice it to say, of the 5 facilities I've investigated so far, (that do NOT accept section 8, or rental assistance), ALL of them so far have used that formula, rent is income based, and will take 30% (1/3) of your income as your rent.
In this particular building, all utilities are included, I don't know about cable, but I have my own contract with another 18 months with Xfinity for internet (here basic cable is provided, but not internet), so I'll keep mine if they can get it to me in the new location,,,IF I decide to go there.
And yes, there are waiting lists at EVERY ONE OF THEM, I am one of the 'baby boomers' that huge growth spurt in population right after WWII, so that something like 65 million others including me are now retiring and looking for housing.
Many made a lot more money than I did and those are the people I get paid to entertain now.
Gotta go to bed now, pre-op at 8:30 at the VA (don't worry, surgery is next week, this one is cosmetic)
Good night sweetheart.
Good Night Jerry. Take care.
