I just joined steemit to say a big thank you for this post.
I did a test of this with $10 worth of litecoin and was successful. For me, the compressed private key didn't work but the other did.

  1. Enter the private [Use the Private Key WIF copied), then use the paper wallet original address, then click "sweep".

then "broadcast"
then go to the send tab and follow the instructions.
