Litecoin Fork Expected Feb 18/19
If you haven't heard it already, there's a lot of buzz online about a Litecoin fork. Litecoin is expected to fork on Feb. 18th or 19th (block 1371111). Like in previous Bitcoin forks, there seems to be a price boost leading up to the fork.
Coindesk pointed out that bitcoin cash "was created as the culmination of years of debate in the bitcoin community" in this article. This doesn't seem to be the case with Litecoin Cash. Charlie Lee refered to Litecoin Cash as a scam on twitter.
In any case, if you're interested in receiving the forked coin you might want to consider pulling Litecoin off of exchanges and onto a desktop wallet (where you hold the private keys). There is no guarantee that your exchange will support and provide you with the forked coin. Searching around, I see that many exchanges have no information regarding Litecoin cash (despite posting information prior to Bitcoin forks).
