In 1979, Magnum 99.9 came into being as 99.9 RK; it is talk, news and music format channel which works under the ownership of Magnum Broadcasting Incorporation. P.N. Roa Broadcasting System introduced DXRK-FM lead by Mayor Pedro N. Roa. The format of the brand new established radio was the Contemporary hit. Since its launched, the Magnum 99.9 FM operated 24/7 until 3 February 1997 when the active hours were down to 16. On 31 December 2002, 99.9 RK left the air and became dead after 23 years. Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation bought the channel, the calls were transformed to DXBD, and the channel was restarted on 24 February 2003 with the format of Hot AC. Once again on 25 December 2010, the telecast was terminated, the radio went off the air with Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson.

Baycomms handover the ownership of DXBD-FM from Mangum Broadcasting Incorporation. On 1 January 2011, the Magnum’s management was changed, on 1 February 2011 test broadcasts were started, and finally, the channel hit the waves on 28 February 2011. Offices were already repositioned to SBS Building, C.M. Recto Avenue after the purchase. On 1 October 2012, Broadcast was raised from twenty to twenty-four hours. In 2013, after a couple of years of its establishment, Magnum 99.9 FM got the number one spot in Cagayan de Oro as per the fans of Kantar Media Radio Research.
