O'Gilins Irish Pub in Lisbon - Best food! Experience, information, photos

Always checking for restaurant reviews when traveling? You like relaxed bars, amazing food and great service? This is the post for you. And no, I am not being paid for randomly writing a positive review on the bar if you were wondering. :) I just like spreading good words about places that deserve it.

On our first day in Lisbon, rain started to fall just at the time we started thinking about food. After a few minutest of wondering around we stumbeled upon a dark, empty Irish pub. This is not usually a good sign, right? But since this was the first restaurant/bar that was not focused solely on fish, or a kebab fast food restaurant, we decided to give it a chance.

The bartender - super friendly Brazilian guy who worked in Ireland before, young, talkative.
The cook - origigi Portuguese grandma who knows how to do her job perfectly, meals speak for themselves, they hava "experience" written all over them.
Interior - dark but relaxed and positive, clean, youthful

FOOD - I have never tried a better hamburger than this one. If you ask me what was so good, unfortunately I would not be able to tell you a single factor that made it so. The hamburger is my boyfriend's meal but he made me try it so I could see for myself how good it was (even though I would probably eat it anyways) :) My pasta and shrims was also amazing, flawless, not over-boiled but also not too stiff.
Since I ordered the daily menú for dessert they brought me a cheesecake. Some might say it had a bit too much cinnamon, but in my case, I loved it. Again flawless, with fruit on the top, lemon mixed in the creme that was rich with flavor and texture. Ah, you justhad to be there.

• The location of the bar is R.dos Remolares 8/10
• Right next to the Pink Street and Cais do Sodré (last station of the green metro line)
• It works daily from 11 am to 2 am
• They offer live music shows on weekends
• Craft beer, cocktails, coffee, you surely will find something you fancy
• Calm atmosphere during the day

I hope one day when you visit Lisbon, you will remember reading this post and will visit the bar. Then you'll believe me.

They also have a cool place next to the bar where people leave their currencies and sign their names. So our 10 kuna papermoney with Ahmad and Tea written on it found a new home, next to other currencies from all over the world.
