Spirits of Stone- Cliffs, Arizona by: Peter Lik
Vermilion
It was a major hike into “the wave”, and I set off early, right on daybreak. This is a highly protected, extremely fragile wilderness area. There are no signs, no tracks, nothing! A special permit is needed and only 10 people a day are permitted to enter this park. As I hiked up a dry riverbed and followed it to the delicate sandstone valley, I could see why. Standing on top of the wave was an incredible feeling I’ll never forget - surrounded by these sensual flowing sandstone walls. I waited for the right light and took the shot. I felt privileged to be allowed to capture Mother Nature’s soul and share it. It was a magic day.
That is an otherworldly place! Nice captured!
