IN THE SAME WAY LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE MEN
"In the same way let your light shine before men, that way we may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
A Christian's life will have influence, whether good or bad. Jesus said His disciples must be like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. The light in our lives should shine like the light of a lamp on a stand. We must not try and hide from the world but let our influence count for Christ in such a way that God will get the glory for the good deeds in our lives. We are to live so that everyone feels our influence. We are vessels for the indwelling Spirit of God and our lives reflect the light of God that burns on the inside.
This past 25 days we had the opportunity to:
- feed the hungry
- to give the thirsty something to drink
- to invite the strangers into our homes
- to clothe the naked
- to look after the sick
- to visit the prisoners
How many of us did just one of those deeds? I am guilty, I wrote about Mathew 25:35-36, I wrote all about the right things but did not go out of my way do any of the above.
It does not matter how small or how big, good deeds will definitely have a positive influence and it will make us feel great at the same time. We all want to do good, for our loved ones, to save the planet or society at large. The thought to visit someone in jail might feel quite daunting, threatening. Some of us simply don't know who to visit or how to handle such a visit.

It is much easier to give something to the poor or visit sick people in a hospital or even at home, but the prison part seems very scary. Are we too scared? I once went to a prison in Sapulpa, America and I must say it was a frightening experience for me. Some prisoners looked at me, with complete madness written all over their faces. I tried to act as if nothing was different but most of them made me feel very uneasy.

Of course, there are many ways to make a positive change to the people in need. we can start to do something good once a week and try to keep it up for fifty-two weeks, in this way we will be able to do good deeds for the whole year.
Donate old clothes to charity, find a charitable organization, get involved. Help a friend or family member in need. Use your talent to benefit others, collect old toys, stuffed animals, donate it to charity or take it to children in an orphanage or take a child out for a weekend. There are numerous ways in which we can make a difference. Let's go for it!
Beautiful ! I wish everyone thinks like you think and they get the same perspective what you wish to convey!.. Love it #keep it up
It doesn't matter in which situation we are we always have to be humble and let our light shine
