Oxidative Stress

Antioxidants help our bodies fight free radicals. But our bodies, over time, stop combating them as well. And so the free radicals start to break down our cells and cause aging.

What are the effects of Oxidative Stress on our bodies?

 Oxidative stress leads to many pathophysiological conditions in the body. Some of these include neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, gene mutations and cancers, chronic fatigue syndrome, fragile X syndrome, heart and blood vessel disorders, atherosclerosis, heart failure, heart attack and inflammatory diseases.  - Dr Ananya Mandal, MD

So the more antioxidants that we have in our system, the less likely we are to develop, or maintain symptoms of these diseases.

So how can we get more anioxidants?

Astaxanthin is touted to be a super antioxidant. But is there a way to get even stronger antioxidants? Some say that the Nrf2 and Nrf1 activators can reprogram our bodies to make our own antioxidants.
